April 2017 – Holy Week & Easter, cont’d

As promised, here are more photos from Holy Week at Santa Rita Abbey. This post features Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Day.

Good Friday: the church sanctuary is empty
Good Friday: on this solemn day of prayer and remembrance, decorating Easter eggs lifts our hearts to the coming hope of Easter. Sr. Cathy & M. Vicki are our artistic decorators.
Good Friday Solemn Afternoon Liturgy: Fr. Casimir offers the opening prayer

Easter Vigil: Fr. Casimir at the altar with the newly lit Paschal candle.
Easter Vigil: candles burn in the choir during the Liturgy of the Word. Sr. Jacqui reads at the lectern while all listen.
